I’ve never gotten on with liquid/gel blushes. In general I find them difficult to work with; they take ages to blend and I end up ruining my foundation in the process. I had read a few good things about Bourjois’ new Aqua Blush range on the blogsphere so I picked up Pink Twice when I was trying to make up my 3 for 2 in Boots.

It’s very different to any gel blush I’ve used before. The pigmentation is light to medium if you build it up. It blends really easily; I’ve used both my fingers and a brush and it works well with both. The finish is very natural, I was worried it would be too shiny for my cheeks but it adds a nice, even glow without looking oily. Pink Twice is the perfect shade for pale/ freckle faced people like myself. There are three others in the range which look nice too but I reckon they’d sit better on darker skin tones or people who are slightly braver than me when it comes to blush. I always play it safe with light pink tones for fear of resembling Bosco!

Now, this lasting 12 hours business. It doesn’t. It does last well (bear in mind I have quite oily skin) for a gel blush but you’d want to be touching it up if you need it to last all day in work and stick around for cocktails afterwards. I still haven’t found a blush that can last a full day on my cheeks so if you have any recommendations please do let me know!

Aqua Blush is so easy to work with and natural, it’s become a staple in my everyday routine, even if it means a little touch up here and there.  You can pick them up in Boots and most pharmacies for €6.90 a piece.
